What's old is new again...
Two old standby establishments in Silverton, Cafe Mobius and the Pride of the West, have recently reopened under new ownership, much to the delight of locals.
Cafe Mobius was originally owned by the late Winston Branko Churchill. For a time it was run as the Steam and Steel Cafe by Lyn and Eric, and has just been re-opened by Megan Kimmel and will carry the original Mobius name once again. Current hours are 7am-4pm, but winter hours will likely be 7am-1pm weekdays and 7am-4pm on weekends. She's doing the best espresso drinks in town, as well as burritos, bagels, and eventually panini will be on the menu again.
The other establishment to change hands is the Pride of the West, one of Silverton's few bars. Last night kicked off with a 'soft' opening, with the official opening coming on Friday night. The new proprietor is Greg Custer of the San Juan Grill. He'll continue to run the Grill, as well as serving food and drink at the P.O.W.
Both businesses are on the west side of Greene Street, between 13th and 14th.
Congrats to both Megan and Greg! And thanks for keeping these important social hubs open!
